A public report near CRZ and CR5 14 NW St. Francis of off and on visibilities falling below one quarter mile due to blowing dust with excessive winds. Wind gusts of 58-79 mph were recorded across the county around the same time.

Wider weather episode

A strong cold front brought high wind gusts up to 85 mph across northwest Kansas during the evening of the 17th into the early morning of the 18th. Numerous wind gusts of 58-80+ mph were observed, with the strongest being just west of Goodland topping out at 85 mph.
