A 62 mph wind gust was recorded on CWOP site named CW6099 9 SSE Sharon Springs. Another wind gust of 61 mph was located at Mt. Sunflower via weatherunderground site named KKSWESKA9.

Wider weather episode

A strong cold front brought high wind gusts up to 85 mph across northwest Kansas during the evening of the 17th into the early morning of the 18th. Numerous wind gusts of 58-80+ mph were observed, with the strongest being just west of Goodland topping out at 85 mph.
