There were numerous reports of wind gusts over 60 mph across Natrona County. The strongest gust was 72 mph at Scenic Drive. The Natrona County airport had a maximum wind gust of 60 mph.

Wider weather episode

A fast moving cold front and trough combined with a strong jet streak brought high wind to portions of central Wyoming. The most impacted area was Natrona County, where wind gusted as high as 72 mph with numerous reports of wind gusts over 60 mph. Wind gusts past 58 mph were also reported in the lower elevations of Park, Johnson and Sublette Counties. A wind gust of 89 mph was recorded in the Tetons. South Pass gusted to 74 mph.
