Mesonet station SNPMT Sunpoint measured a 59 mph wind gust. Mesonet station SRYM8 Saint Mary RAWS also reported a high wind gust.

An upper level ridge broke down, bringing strong winds aloft. A strong pressure gradient and mountain wave activity helped mix down these strong winds along the Rocky Mountain Front.
