Event narrative

Mesonet station MTBWG Browning (MT DOT) measured a 89 mph wind gust. They also measured high sustained winds. Montana Mesonet station Wetzel NE also measured high wind gusts and high sustained winds. Mesonet station MTBRN Two Medicine Bridge (MT DOT), Mesonet station SHBM Browning, and GOGM8 Dog Gun Lake Mesonet station also measured high wind gusts.

Wider weather episode

An upper-level ridge broke down Thursday and Friday, bringing strong mid-level winds. This combined with a pressure gradient tightening up brought strong winds to the Rocky Mountain front on the 13th. These strong winds spilled out further east to the plains along Highway 200 corridor on the 14th.
