Mesonet station MTGYS Geyser (MT DOT) averages sustained winds of 45 mph. They also measured a 62 mph wind gust.
The wider storm
An upper-level ridge broke down Thursday and Friday, bringing strong mid-level winds. This combined with a pressure gradient tightening up brought strong winds to the Rocky Mountain front on the 13th. These strong winds spilled out further east to the plains along Highway 200 corridor on the 14th.
