Event narrative

Mesonet station MTM16 6.6 N Dell (MT-MESO) measured a 64 mph wind gust.

Wider weather episode

An upper-level disturbance brought a winter system to the region. This brought moderate mountain snow with localized heavy snow at the mountain peaks. A strong Pacific cold front created snow squalls along the I-90 corridor. There were isolated thunderstorms ahead of the snow squalls, which brought localized severe wind gusts at Bozeman. The cold front also produced localized high winds in Southwest MT. Along the Hi-line, a warm front brought freezing rain during the morning.
