According to the Drought Monitor, D2 Severe Drought conditions were present in Harris county through the month of October.

D2 Severe Drought conditions were first introduced to Harris County on September 23, 2025, and continued into November.

Wider weather episode

The lack of tropical season precipitation and the persistent dry conditions produced short-term drought conditions over west central Georgia. The widening short-term rainfall deficits resulted in quickly expanding drought conditions over Harris County in late September remaining nearly status quo into October.

Despite the 1 to 1.75 inches of rain received in October in Harris County, little improvement was seen through the month given this was only 30 to 55 percent of normal rainfall for the month. The D2 Severe Drought expanded and persisted into November.
