Event narrative

A tree was blown down onto power lines causing a power outage on Bullard Street in Reidland.

Wider weather episode

As a strong 500mb trough approached from the Plains, a solid line of showers and thunderstorms developed near the Mississippi River and moved northeast across all of west Kentucky through the evening. Temperatures in the 80s and dewpoints in the 60s yielded CAPE of only around 500J/kg to go along with effective shear of 40kts. Instability and shear were maximized over the Purchase Area in the evening, allowing the developing line of storms to reach it's peak intensity as it moved through the Paducah area, where it produced sporadic wind damage with 50-60 mph winds. The line continued to produce sporadic wind damage as it moved northeast through Marion and Dixon.
