Multiple SNOTEL sites estimated snowfall of 9 inches or greater, including Beaver Creek (9 inches), Black Bear (10 inches), Clover Meadow (9 inches), Shower Falls (13 inches), and Lone Mountain (9 inches).

Wider weather episode

A jet streak brought an initial round of mainly mountain snow across the region December 4th into early December 5th. After a break, a more potent wave progressed across the Northern Rockies, bringing additional heavy snow. All in all, mountains seeing the heaviest snow were across the Central Montana ranges and southward.
