Three snotels estimated new snowfall of 9 inches or greater, including Darkhorse Lake (10 inches), Bloody Dick (9 inches), and Mule Creek (10 inches).

Wider weather episode

A jet streak brought an initial round of mainly mountain snow across the region December 4th into early December 5th. After a break, a more potent wave progressed across the Northern Rockies, bringing additional heavy snow. All in all, mountains seeing the heaviest snow were across the Central Montana ranges and southward.
