Event narrative

Snotel equipment well above pass level measured snow in excess of 9 inches, including Frohner Meadow (10 inches), and Rocker Peak (11 inches). Given impacts from this snow at and below pass level was minimal, no Winter Storm Warning was issued for this area for this event.

Wider weather episode

A jet streak brought an initial round of mainly mountain snow across the region December 4th into early December 5th. After a break, a more potent wave progressed across the Northern Rockies, bringing additional heavy snow. All in all, mountains seeing the heaviest snow were across the Central Montana ranges and southward.
