MT DOT sensors at Deep Creek Pass and Bridger Canyon measured gusts in excess of 58 mph, including a peak gust of 72 mph at Bridger Canyon.

Wider weather episode

Strong zonal flow coinciding with the passage of a shortwave trough was translated to the surface, primarily during the evening of the 8th and into the 9th over the plains and adjacent areas. The strongest winds were more isolated east of I-15 over the plains, but did occur.
