High Wind in Cascade County Below 5000ft, Montana

Mesonet station MTM76 Cascade E, MT Mesonet station Sun River SE, official NWS Great Falls obs (RSOIS), and ASOS station KGTF Great Falls Airport all measured wind gusts of 58 mph of or greater, including a peak gust of 63 mph at Cascade E and Sun River SE.

Another shortwave parading across the Northern Rockies within a zonal flow aloft promoted another windy period December 10th into the 11th. While the strongest gusts were more isolated than previous events, there were still plenty of reports along and near the Continental Divide.
