Fire Department and Rescue reported 3.9 inches at 2 SW Middletown. The general public reported 3.1 inches at 2 S Montgomery Airport, 2.2 inches at Pine Bush, 2.2 inches at 1 WSW Balmvile, 2.2 inches at 2 E Highland Mills. Trained spotters reported 2.5 inches at 1 WNW Monroe, 2.3 inches at 1 NNE Chester, 2.0 inches at 2 SSW Middletown, and 2.0 inches at 1 NNE Chester. Only 1.1 inches was reported by the general public in Peekskill in Westchester County as amounts were less further SE.

Wider weather episode

A progressive low pressure system developed in the SE states and moved northeast off the Mid Atlantic coast and intensified as it pulled away to the northeast. Temperatures were marginal across the interior as 2 to 4 inches of wet snow fell across portions of Orange County, mainly north and northwest portions of the county.
