A high end advisory event took place as amounts spatially and numerically averaged just below warning criteria. Trained spotters reported 3.7 inches in Middletown, 6.6 inches at 3 WNW Warwick, and 6.5 inches in Monroe. A Cocorahs observer reported 6.0 inches in Port Jervis. The public reported 5.9 inches at 2 SW Greenwood Lake, 5.1 inches at 2 E Highland Mills, and 4.3 inches at 2 SSW Stewart Airport.

Advisory and some Warning level snowfall occurred across SE New York. An quasi arctic / polar boundary moved across the region as elongated weak low pressure formed along the boundary and moved along the boundary to the east northeast. The region was on the cold side of the boundary which resulted in accumulating snowfall region wide.
