A trained spotter reported 6.0 inches in Plainfield. Broadcast media reported 5.8 inches in Cranford. The public reported 6.0 inches 1 NNE Westfield and 6.2 inches at 1 NE Union. A cocorahs observer reported 6.0 inches at New Providence. 1 NW Fanwood along the border of zone reported 5.7 inches.

Advisory and some Warning level snowfall occurred across NE New Jersey. An quasi arctic / polar boundary moved across the region as elongated weak low pressure formed along the boundary and moved along the boundary to the east northeast. The region was on the cold side of the boundary which resulted in accumulating snowfall region wide.
