Event narrative

Flood water covered N Canal Street and entered at least three businesses in Natchez including the Natchez Democrat, Blankensteins Supplies and Equipment, and the Natchez Convention Center. Two adults were swept off their feet by flood water near the intersection of Aldrich St. and Brenham Avenue. One of them, a 42 year old woman, was killed when she was swept into a storm drain. The other person had to be rescued.

Wider weather episode

A line of thunderstorms formed west of the area and moved across Mississippi early in the morning. Some of these thunderstorms produced damaging wind gusts and heavy rainfall.
