Cocorahs observers reported 8.0 inches in Durham, 7.0 inches in Higganum, and 6.5 inches at 1.4 W Middlefield. Amateur radio reported 8.0 inches in Chester and 6.5 inches in East Haddam.

Wider weather episode

A progressive shortwave from the west overran a cold high pressure system resulting in a significant snowfall across the region. Warm advection aloft was the main driver of the snowfall for much of the event. A significant snowfall occurred across Southern Connecticut.
