Amateur radio reported 8.0 inches in Jewett City. Cocorahs reported 6.5 inches in Oakdale, 4.9 inches in Norwich, 5.5 inches in Waterford, 5.5 inches in Preston, 6.3 inches at 2.4 NNW Uncasville, and 8.0 inches at 3.6 SE Salem.

A progressive shortwave from the west overran a cold high pressure system resulting in a significant snowfall across the region. Warm advection aloft was the main driver of the snowfall for much of the event. A significant snowfall occurred across Southern Connecticut.
