Light snow fell across the county during the afternoon and evening hours. Snowfall rates forced visibilities to fall to one half mile at times at the Fairmont Municipal Airport and 3.1 inches were measured 1 mile SE of Fairmont.
The wider storm
A clipper type system moved across southern Minnesota over the first weekend of December. Periods of light to moderate snow fell mainly south and west of the MN River Valley. Between 1 to 3 inches of snowfall fell across this region with the highest snowfall observations in Martin and Faribault counties.

3.1 inches in Fairmont, MN (Martin).
3.0 inches in Blue Earth, MN (Faribault).
2.0 inches in Winnebago, MN (Faribault).
2.0 inches 3 miles SE of Wells, MN (Faribault).
