Event narrative

This winter storm brought around 5 and 7 inches of snowfall to Buffalo County over the course of November 29th and 30th. The highest snowfall report in the county was around 5 miles northeast of Montana where 7.4 inches was observed.

Wider weather episode

A significant and prolonged winter storm moved into the region just after midnight on November 29thm bringing moderate snow for a roughly 36 hour period before exiting the region by the early morning hours on November 30th. This storm was particularly impactful as it occurred right after Thanksgiving resulting in extra difficulties for holiday travel. Overall, the storm brought snowfall accumulations of 5 to 13 inches across portions of western Wisconsin, primarily near and south of Interstate 94.
