A trained spotter reported 4.2 inches at 3 NE West Milford. A cocorahs observer reported 3.5 inches at 1.1 S Pompton Lakes.

Wider weather episode

A progressive shortwave from the west overran a cold high pressure system resulting in a significant snowfall across the region. Warm advection aloft was the main driver of the snowfall for much of the event. An accumulating snowfall occurred across Northeastern New Jersey.
