A cooperative observer reported 4.0 inches in Harrison. A trained spotter reported 3.9 inches in Hoboken. A cocorahs observer reported 3.5 inches at 1 WSW Hoboken.

Wider weather episode

A progressive shortwave from the west overran a cold high pressure system resulting in a significant snowfall across the region. Warm advection aloft was the main driver of the snowfall for much of the event. An accumulating snowfall occurred across Northeastern New Jersey.
