Amateur radio reported 5.4 inches in White Plains, and 3.0 inches in Mount Vernon. The public reported 4.5 inches at 1 E Scarsdale, 4.3 inches at 1 SSE Greenville, 3.8 inches at 1 WNW Tuckahoe, and 2.8 inches at 1 E Pelham Manor.

A progressive shortwave from the west overran a cold high pressure system resulting in a significant snowfall across the region. Warm advection aloft was the main driver of the snowfall for much of the event. Advisory to Warning level snow fell across Southeastern New York.
