The Ziamet mesonet station southeast of Vaughn, NM in southwestern Guadalupe County measured high wind gusts of 58 mph and 65 mph.

A strong section of the jetstream between two upper level systems brought a brief period of high wind gusts to a portion of central NM January 8th. Peak gusts of 58 mph to 65 mph were measured by the New Mexico Ziamet station southeast of Vaughn, NM.
