Event narrative

Strong gusty winds occurred over portions of Goshen County for a four or five hour period. A peak wind of 76 MPH was measured at Torrington Airport. North of Torrington, a 16 wheeler Semi truck was blown and flipped over off the right side of the road.

Wider weather episode

A potent jet stream moved over Wyoming and the high plains resulting in another round of strong gusty winds, and occasionally very strong winds across the wind prone areas of southeast Wyoming. Gusts of 60 to 70 MPH were common, with some gusts as high as 88 MPH.
