Event narrative

Several WYDOT sites reported periods of strong wind gusts between 65 to 75 MPH. Peak gust of 76 MPH was recorded at Remount Road WYDOT site near Buford.

Wider weather episode

A potent jet stream moved over Wyoming and the high plains resulting in another round of strong gusty winds, and occasionally very strong winds across the wind prone areas of southeast Wyoming. Gusts of 60 to 70 MPH were common, with some gusts as high as 88 MPH.
