The McCook Airport ASOS (KMCK) recorded wind gusts of 60-66 mph. Other WeatherUnderground and Ambient weather stations located 3 WNW McCook and 2 E McCook each had wind gusts of 60 and 68 mph respectively. Additional wind gusts of 56 mph were recorded 8 NNW Danbury and 7 NE Bartley.

Wider weather episode

Another day of high winds occurred on the 18th. A peak wind gust of 83 mph was recorded in Hitchcock county located 8 NNE Culbertson. McCook also saw a 71 mph wind gust. Dundy county was still windy but not quite as strong as recorded wind gusts maxed out around 55 mph.
