An Ambient Weather station named Section 17 located 10 NE Wallace recorded wind gusts of 60, 64, 68, 76 and 81 mph. The Kansas Mesonet site named RussellSprings3SW recorded wind gusts of 57, 59, 62 and 64 mph. A WeatherUnderground site named KKSWALLA4 located 16 SSE Wallace recorded wind gusts of 58 and 61 mph. The AWOS named KOEL located at the Oakley Airport recorded wind gusts of 58 mph.

Wider weather episode

Numerous wind gusts ranging from 58-81 mph occurred across northwest Kansas. The strongest wind gust of 81 mph was located 10 NE Wallace in Logan county. Zero visibility in blowing dust was also reported 3 NE Seguin in Sheridan county which led to the closure of Highway 24.
