The Marshall County Sheriff issued a No Travel Advised notice due to a light glaze of ice on roadways.

A fast-moving weather system brought pockets of light freezing rain and drizzle to portions of northeast South Dakota on the morning of December 9. These conditions resulted in a light glaze of ice on area roadways, leading to hazardous travel. According to the South Dakota Highway Patrol, several slide-ins occurred near the Summit exit, and a semi-trailer jackknifed on Interstate 29 near New Effington. Emergency management and county sheriff departments issued No Travel Advised for Marshall and Roberts counties. Rainfall totals of 0.01 inches were recorded at the National Weather Service office in Aberdeen, while a trace was noted by the COOP observer in Sisseton.
