Event narrative
Several WYDOT observation sites along Interstate 80 recorded periods of strong gusty winds. Winds were infrequent and diminished quick after the peak gust. Peak gust of 70 MPH was measured at Foote Creek.
Wider weather episode
A brief high wind event occurred mainly during the afternoon hours of December 28th. Infrequent strong wind gusts between 60 to 70 MPH were reported.
