A low pressure system remained in the vicinity of the Bootheel on the morning of the 2nd. The disturbance had moved far enough east to support clear skies in Carter and Wayne counties. Radiational cooling allowed for temperatures to fall to around 30 degrees that led to the development of patchy frost and freeze.
