A few WYDOT sites across the southern Laramie Range, mostly along Interstate 80, reported brief gusts of 58 MPH and sustained winds over 40 MPH. Peak gust of 58 MPH measured at Lone Tree WYDOT site, near Buford Wyoming.

Wider weather episode

Strong gap winds briefly impacted portions of Interstate 80 between Elk Mountain and the Interstate 80 Summit for the early morning hours of December 30th. Wind gusts were generally between 55 to 65 MPH.
