Event narrative

Heavy lake effect snowfall across the county resulted in snowfall totals of 4 to 8 inches. Higher amounts were recorded along the Penokee Range where 9 to 12 inches fell. A high report of 12 inches was received from Gile.

Wider weather episode

Lake-effect snowfall begin during the afternoon of the 8th and continued into the 10th when high pressure arrived and brought drier air and less favorable winds into the region, ending the event. Iron County received the most snowfall in this event with 9 to 12 inches of accumulation across the Penokee Range and 4 to 8 inches elsewhere. Ashland and Price counties saw lesser amounts with parts of those counties not receiving any snowfall.
