Event narrative

Multiple sensors measured gusts in excess of 75 mph or sustained winds, averaged over at least an hour, of 50 mph. These sensors included Dog Gun Lake E, Two Medicine Bridge, and Wetzel. The peak observed gust was 82 mph at Dog Gun Lake E.

Wider weather episode

Upper level ridging in place resulted in a westerly flow across the region during the 14th. A strong pressure gradient combined with this strong cross barrier flow to result in strong winds in typically wind prone areas along the Rocky Mountain Front.
