Event narrative

Between 2-4 inches of snow fell with the highest totals being observed in the northeastern region of the county. CoCoRaHS observers measured 3.8 inches of snow 3 miles ESE of Starbuck. Additionally, the AWOS station located at the Glenwood Airport reported less than three-quarters of a mile of visibility due to falling snow.

Wider weather episode

A potent clipper system moved across Minnesota on December 9th, 2025. Areas across southwestern MN observed a mix of rain, freezing rain which eventually transitioned over to all snow. However, a tight transition zone between precipitation types set up along the I-94 corridor where 3 to 5 inches of snow fell. Areas north of I-94, observed heavy snow accumulations between six to eight inches.

7.5 inches 7 miles WSW of Vineland, MN (Morrison).

7.3 inches in Lexington, MN (Ramsey).

7.1 inches 3 miles NW of Blaine, MN (Anoka).

7.0 inches in Coon Rapids, MN (Anoka).

7.0 inches in Bock, MN (Mille Lacs).
