Event narrative

Approximately 1 to 4 inches of snow fell with the highest amounts being in the northern region of the County. CoCoRaHS observers measured 3.5 inches of snow 6 miles SW of Credit River, 3.1 inches 2 miles WNW of Prior Lake, and 3 inches in Savage. Additionally, the ASOS station located at the Flying Cloud Regional Airport reported one-quarter of a mile of visibility due to falling snow which caused slippery roadways and hazardous travel conditions.

Wider weather episode

A potent clipper system moved across Minnesota on December 9th, 2025. Areas across southwestern MN observed a mix of rain, freezing rain which eventually transitioned over to all snow. However, a tight transition zone between precipitation types set up along the I-94 corridor where 3 to 5 inches of snow fell. Areas north of I-94, observed heavy snow accumulations between six to eight inches.

7.5 inches in Columbus, MN (Anoka).

7.5 inches 7 miles WSW of Vineland, MN (Morrison).

7.3 inches in Lexington, MN (Ramsey).

7.1 inches 3 miles NW of Blaine, MN (Anoka).

7.0 inches in Coon Rapids, MN (Anoka).

7.0 inches in Bock, MN (Mille Lacs).
