Frequent gust of 60 to 65 MPH were recorded across Converse County early in the morning. A maximum gust of 75 MPH from a CWOP site at 5 WSW Douglas was recorded at 3:45 AM MST on 1/4.
Wider weather episode
A shortwave moving across the Rockies lead to strong winds aloft combined with strong subsidence over portions of southeast Wyoming. As a result, strong winds affected the usual southeast Wyoming wind prones and wind prone adjacent areas along the Interstate 25 corridor.
