A significant winter storm impacted a large stretch of the Midwest during the night of the 28th and through the night of the 29th. Multiple rounds of moderate to occasionally heavy snow fell on the area throughout the day. Widespread snow totals in the 6 to 9 inch range were observed across northern Illinois. The highest totals were observed north of I-80 with some isolated accumulations near 1 foot near the Wisconsin state line.
