Event narrative

Scattered to numerous snow showers caused slick and icy roadways in Fayette County. The hazardous conditions resulted in an injury vehicle crash involving three commercial motor vehicles. The injured person was transported to a local hospital, and the roadway was closed for a short period of time. The crash also resulted in a spill of 50 gallons of diesel fuel.

Wider weather episode

A deep upper level low dropped south into the Ohio Valley, bringing strong cold air advection and a healthy moisture plume off the Great Lakes. The combination of mid and upper-level forcing, very steep low-level lapse rates, and deep moisture led to the development of scattered to numerous convective snow showers and squalls from mid-morning through the afternoon hours of November 10, 2025. The snow showers caused hazardous and slick road conditions, which resulting in multiple vehicle accidents as well as injuries and fatalities.
