Heavy Snow — Cambria, Pennsylvania

2025-12-13 to 2025-12-14 · Cambria, Pennsylvania

Event narrative

Heavy snow fell across Cambria County from the afternoon of December 13 through the evening of December 14. While most of the county saw 6 to 10 inches of snow, amounts as high as 12.7 inches were reported near Nanty-Glo.

Wider weather episode

Surface low pressure stationed across northern Ontario and western Quebec allowed for a cold frontal passage during the evening hours of December 13, 2025 across central Pennsylvania. Snowfall along and ahead of the cold front with ample moisture in place allowed for a brief period of light to moderate snowfall across the Laurel Highlands into the early morning hours of December 14th. After the cold frontal passage, enhanced westerly flow allowed for continued upslope snow showers across portions of Cambria and Somerset counties that brought additional accumulations into the evening hours of December 14th. Increased moisture off of the Chesapeake Bay allowed for an additional area of heavy snowfall to form across portions of York and Lancaster counties.
