COOP Observer snowfall reports ranged from 9.3 inches 3 miles southwest of Anamosa to 10.2 inches in Monticello. Trained spotter reports ranged from 8.4 inches in Olin to 12.3 inches 2 miles northeast of Stone City.

Wider weather episode

A long duration winter storm tracked across the region Friday night through late Saturday night. There are widespread snowfall reports of 7 to 14 inches with the heaviest snow falling along and north of Interstate 80. Northwest winds gusting between 40 to 50 mph developed Saturday night across the area as snow was coming to an end.
