The COOP Observer 4 miles west of Stanley reported 14.0 inches of snow. Trained spotter snowfall reports ranged from 8.5 inches 1 mile north of Independence to 14.8 inches Jesup.
The wider storm
A long duration winter storm tracked across the region Friday night through late Saturday night. There are widespread snowfall reports of 7 to 14 inches with the heaviest snow falling along and north of Interstate 80. Northwest winds gusting between 40 to 50 mph developed Saturday night across the area as snow was coming to an end.
