The 832am morning 511 report for the Klondike Highway on the 20th gave a snowfall of 4 to 7 inches for the upper portions of the highway to the border with snow continuing to fall. The Moore Creek SNOTEL site at 2250 feet elevation measured snowfall between the hours of 8pm on the 19th and 1pm on the 20th with a total of 7 inches.
Wider weather episode
On Tuesday night November 18th, a strong low moved along the Panhandle coast carrying plentiful moisture with it. This brought snow to the upper portions of the Haines and Klondike Highways on the 19th and into the 20th while temperatures hovered around the freezing point. Meanwhile, portions of Prince of Wales Island saw a period of high winds on the 19th.
