Trained spotters in the Mud Bay area south of Haines reported an estimated 5 inches of snow had fallen by 620am on the 24th, approximately over the previous 6 hours. Lighter snow continued through the 24th with 8.5 inches measured by 1130pm and 24-36 hour storm total accumulations by the following morning of 8.5 to 14 inches.

Wider weather episode

A weak, decaying low pressure system brough moisture up from the

south, generating snow showers for Haines, Lutak, and primarily the Mud Bay

area beginning early Monday morning the 24th and lasting for more than 20 hours.
