A trained spotter reported 14.0 inches at 2 S Pompton Lakes. The public reported 16.0 inches at 2 WSW Ringwood, 15.0 inches in West Milford, and 13.0 inches at 1 SSW Wanaque. The average snowfall across the zone was estimated to be just over a foot.

Wider weather episode

A low pressure system emerged out of the Southern Plains and Texas and rode northeast through the Tennessee Valley and the Appalachians, before emerging just off the New Jersey coast. This produced a heavy snowfall across all of Northeastern New Jersey, with sleet, some of it heavy across a large portion of the region.
