An Official NWS Observation at Islip Airport of 13.0 inches was reported.

The following subsequent reports include; 14.0 inches in Brightwaters, 12.0 inches in Islip Terrace 0.5 W, 12.0 inches in East Islip, 11.5 inches in Central Islip, 11.0 inches in Shirley, 11.0 inches in Babylon, 10.7 inches in 1 NNE Sayville, 10.3 inches in Blue Point 0.3 ENE, 10.2 inches in Deer Park, 9.8 inches in 1 SSE Sayville, 9.7 inches in North Patchogue, 9.5 inches in 1 W Shirley Airport, 9.4 inches in North Babylon, 9.2 inches in Amityville, 9.0 inches in 1 SE East Patchogue, 9.0 inches in East Islip, 8.0 inches in Sayville. Average snowfall across the zone was estimated to be between 10 and 11 inches.

Wider weather episode

A low pressure system emerged out of the Southern Plains and Texas and rode northeast through the Tennessee Valley and the Appalachians, before emerging just off the New Jersey coast. This produced a heavy snowfall across all of Southeastern New York, with sleet, some of it heavy across a large portion of the region.
