Broadcast media reported 9.7 inches in Sheepshead Bay. The following observations included snowfall from the public were as follows; 12.0 inches in Williamsburg, 11.3 inches in 3 WNW Flatbush, 10.5 inches in 1 SE Williamsburg, 9.0 inches from 1 NW Midwood, and 8.0 inches from 1 W Crown Heights. Estimated average snowfall for the zone was around 10 inches.

Wider weather episode

A low pressure system emerged out of the Southern Plains and Texas and rode northeast through the Tennessee Valley and the Appalachians, before emerging just off the New Jersey coast. This produced a heavy snowfall across all of Southeastern New York, with sleet, some of it heavy across a large portion of the region.
