Drought — Webb, Texas

2025-12-01 to 2025-12-31 · Webb, Texas

Event narrative

Continued D2 drought. Introduction of D3 on 12/23.

Wider weather episode

Unseasonably warm and dry conditions continued across South Texas, with little to no meaningful rainfall observed. Drought conditions continued to worsen due to persistent lack of rainfall and dry air, with soil moisture rated critically low in the Coastal Bend and very short to short across South Texas. Range and pasture conditions remained moisture-stressed, with only limited green-up in some areas and generally poor to fair conditions, very low grass yields, and widespread vegetation stress. Some agricultural operations reported hauling water, and irrigation water was unavailable in area canals, further highlighting ongoing and intensifying drought impacts across the region.
